They do. They just expect the people who make the products they use take care of that.

I think its more about people not caring enough to do the investigation of every app/thing they do. Like @GBKS said, they expect it to have already been done. Coming from the United States most people believe this is a given and choose not to investigate further. Little do they know.... How little they know.
Nah. They don’t. They don’t even care what permissions they grant. “This app will peer into your soul and kidnap your children” - ACCEPT!
