Nah, those people are far more well-adjusted than the true jazz-head. You won't be having any fun. In fact, after a while you won't even enjoy jazz anymore - you'll just get a vague sense of superiority from collecting records no one else wants.

I just do digital downloads or YouTube.

I don't even have speakers.

And often I'm too headphone-fatigued and listen just off my laptop speakers.

You don't PLAY records, you silly goose - you just put them on a shelf and hope that the vague satisfaction that comes from ownership offsets the anxiety you feel when you think of all the records you don't have.
