I stopped to say hello to Dog Treat Lady, and while we were chatting her creepy neighbour walked up with his yappy dog and just stood there on the property boundary, waiting for me.

So I came home the other way instead. I don’t mind being polite to him — he can be seriously nasty when people get on the wrong side of him — but he will keep lurking waiting for me and then try to have a conversation while his dog is yapping and Dog is going insane trying to kill it.

Plus, I just know I’d have got a rant about how evil Dog Treat Lady is, and she’s actually an absolute sweetheart.

He’s a walking example of “if everyone around you is the problem, maybe you are the problem”.
