I just think you’re using it wrong. It’s not meant to be actually intelligent, no matter how much they market it as artificial intelligence. All it can do is take human tasks like summarizing work or writing responses or even code, and make it more efficient. You still need to use your human brain to make judgements on the content it provides and act accordingly.
Obviously, I agree with you that a dumb internet robot shouldn’t be relied upon for controversial political opinions or good philosophical thought
It’s not really about how I’m using it, but how it will be used. I think it’s going to have a significant impact, and in a negative way.
But I also see how it is very useful in other ways.
Only idiots who already have those backwards political and philosophical opinions will take it seriously on those subjects
Anyone who can think for themselves will continue on as usual
I think you’re underestimating how effective propaganda can be.
Propaganda doesn’t need ChatGPT to exist
And I don’t underestimate it - unfortunately I’d estimate most people are the victims of propaganda (meaning they have one or more self destructive idea which they hold as the result of propaganda)
