I'm a gambler. That's how I got into #Bitcoin. I'm in the US and our draconian government made it very hard for me to make a living in both late 2006 and early 2011. In 2006 they passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. In 2011, they actually enforced it by shutting down Poker Stars and Full Tilt in the US. I was devastated. I didn't want to move to Vegas. Enter #Bitcoin. I learned about it in 2012. Soon after I used it to fund a bankroll for online poker again. But then I noticed it go up and up and up. So I invested. It was pretty early. So I must thank the US government for making me rich AF. I'm a middling poker player. But I've made way more on my Bitcoin investments than I have in poker. So fuck you government. I'm in charge now. 😂

Have you tried coinpoker? I tried it like a year ago. Was thinking about picking it up again. IDK it seemed like it was maybe at least 50% bots I was playing against, but there were a lot of tables and players.

No, I'm on the WPN network. The games are soft as hell, so I'm not switching anytime soon. Plus, I have a huge PokerTracker database on all villains. It would suck to rebuild. I really rely on PokerTracker to find leaks in my game and in reg's games, so I wouldn't want to play on a site that didn't support PokerTracker unless the games were really soft.

Yeah I don't know. I'm not that advanced. I should look at PokerTracker. Might up my game.

My big attraction to CoinPoker was that they denominated in Bitcoin. But then they switched to USDT and I was like... nah man.

Actually, I just checked, coinpoker is supported by PokerTracker. Huh! Are the games soft?

Daaaamn! I remember this like it was yesterday, I wasn't directly affected by that first ban in US immediately but later on they made it unattractive here too/semi-ban/whatever. (EU)

The day it was banned in the US I had a lot of connection issues and when I refreshed browsers, sometimes I saw the same 3L agencies page US citizens would see when they launched the sites.

I was active on PS and Full Tilt back then too. I remember I started by completing some weird poker-quiz, received 12€ for that for free and then I grinded these 12€ up to 4 digits in like a month, 5 digits after 3 months, fun times! 😂

I stopped when I noticed it became addiction. (was rude to uninvolved people IRL for seemingly no reason after huge losses 😂 )

I didn't want to lose my job back then because of it, so I took the decision and stopped playing.

Wasn't easy but certainly worth the experience. Now I only play Texas Hold'em for fun occasionally against very close friends, once a year or so..but yeah I was there. 😎 My Bitcoin awareness-phase came much later tho. 😅 P.S. your pfp: Very sad Hunter isn't with us anymore, I wonder what that mutant would have to say these days. (pandemic, the world today a.s.o.), he certainly would have made a difference..
