Moving BTC doesn't necessary mean someone is selling. E.g. you can send partion of your wallet to your other wallet or you could be moving your funds to scare people into selling theirs.

Ahh, so you mean the "whale alert" could only be a transfer between wallets, isn't it?

Yes, that is correct. It can also be exchanges splitting current wallet (customers moved their BTC to exchange) to diversify assets (not keeping all their eggs (BTC) in one basket (wallet) in case of a hack). There might be many reasons.
