Chiggers are microscopic arachnids (like a tick but much much smaller) they are red, but most of the time you don't see them. They get on you and you don't even know it, until 2 days later and you have these red itchy bumps usually around your ankles or your wasteband where they bit you... By that time they are no longer in you... They don't attach like a tick does. They are mostly in the south where we live.

Keeping the grass mowed helps as well as having chickens and Guinea fowl that will help control them.
