I get having a more evenly balanced lightning channel with say WoS. But let’s say you open a channel with a BTCPay Server taking donations. Does it make sense for the channel to have more outbound liquidity in this case, which is to say, a more unbalanced channel, given that you want to optimize the channel to be able to route larger amounts their way?

Does this make sense, or am I not thinking about this correctly?

For sure it can make sense to have imbalanced channels. But it's always better to try for at least function amount on either side.

Right, that does make sense. And yes you’re right, “imbalance” is the correct terminology here, I’m not falling of a ledge. 🙏
