A variance in opinions are good. Echo chambers are bad. We can't grow and make informed decisions without different perspectives and discussions about them. As long as we can agree on that, we're good. Hopefully we can all see the beauty in that.

Nostr is the biggest echo chamber I’ve ever come across, even moreso than reddit lol.
And this is very much a people thing. So far, social networks quickly converge in to echo chambers.
The early Nostr community understands this. But if it takes off, tons of people who don't will silo off.
How do we discourage the same end?

I appreciate the sentiment and I wholeheartedly agree that aspiring to build a community that has done the inner work necessary to tolerate seemingly contradictory perspectives while offering dignity to everyone is a worthy goal.
Unfortunately, I don’t believe an honest community can be a safe one for everyone - at least not currently.
