I have updated my umbrel node mounted on a rasperry pi to 29.0.0 and its been a horrible pain since then. Already 2 mornings after the update, and each morning I wake up with my bitcoin node NOT RUNNING. I need to restore peers NODE data and it starts running again.
In my experience, a very bad update.
I understand what happened to you, likewise each change always entails more computing expense, the raspberries are falling short if you want to run more than 1 app on the umbrella, and this happens with everything at the software level, however you are right if you have little computing power it is not convenient for you to update things that involve graphics
