WOS won’t let me change zap amount. Default appears set on settings. but can’t change amount if wanting to send different amount.

I noticed there was the update and iOS for Wallet of Satoshi so you might want to check it

If you are talking about the default amount only, then there’s a known bug in Damus that should be fixed in the next version.

In the meantime you should be able to manually change the sat amount for each transaction, no?
