سؤال مهم قبل رمضان: هل يوجد مصارف للزكاة تقبل البتكوين؟ والسؤال الأهم كيف يمكن التحقق من كونها مصرف شرعي للزكاة؟

الله يبلغنا وإياكم الشهر

Important question: are there any bitcoin-accepting Zakat charities? How can we verify their legibility?

Not a valid Islamic opinion, but I would first look for a way to give my zakat in my own country, as it is sunnah to donate locally first.

There is a zakat organization in my country, for example, and I asked them whether they accept payments in BTC.

If it's not possible locally and you would have to convert your Zakat share in BTC to fiat first, and this process also triggers a taxable event, then I would look for international options.

One option is https://www.orphans-of-uganda.org/, they have a Machankura page where they accept BTC donations ( https://8333.mobi/OrphansOfUganda ). I know them for 8 years now, they're reliable.

As I said, just my unqualified personal opinion.

It is sound logic, thanks for sharing. I usually give my btc Zakat in equivalent amount of fiat from my liquidity and give it locally.

But I imagine this could difficult at some point, if btc shoots beyond what I can afford in fiat. That's when I would like to have a direct 2.5% of BTC option simply because off-ramps are harder to deal with than on-ramps.

Secondly, I would love to have the option to distribute some of that wealth to our folks in places like Gaza, Syria, or others. We have a catastrophe in every region. I imagine the needier they are the more-of-a-priority they become.

There's no immediate need, alhamdulillah.
