Since I stoppes using the YouTube app and began using brave browser for it, adds haven't been an issue. It's been nice, because the adds were getting ridiculous

Good advice. I use the app. I'll check out what brave does on my phone with YT.

Honestly, I find it to be a better experience. Add blocker + you can turn off your screen while keeping the audio on.
