why not just turn the phone off? or is the idea to work on the phone without connecting? airplane mode on grapheneos should do the trick no?

i understand that there are devices which hibernate or can be put into standby, but that is not what happens when i turn my smartphone off right? you're saying cause the smartphone is still connected to a battery it is not truly off?
