This was a really interesting chart on further uses of cover crops. Sorry the red column is almost illegible; I failed to find a cleaner version.

Also daikon for compaction control, or at least I'm counting on that! We have very hard clay soil, and I'm planting daikon, crimson clover and winter peas around fruit and nut trees this fall. The daikon and winter peas are already coming up, and (I hope) we'll see the clover in the spring.

I'm so excited about the idea of using daikon!

Are you going to eat any of the winter pea shoots? I think they're pretty good.
