On the contrary, Diogenes himself shat on a lot of contemporary thought and was quite humble. I don't think you need to be egotistical to recognize what merit, if any, some idle thought might have.

The "a priori" argument literally already feels like a sad rehash of Pascal's Wager. How much further do I need to dig before I find something palpable?
