Do you know yourself? Not your profession, skills, likes, dislikes, appearance. These are not you. I mean the Thinker. The one who acts, feels, observes and experiences within you. If you do not know this Thinker, then your thoughts are the thoughts of a stranger.

Whoah! Thats deep. One of the fundamental objectives of ancient Hinduism was knowing yourself. Thr sages said God and devil both reside inside yourself. The main objective of one's life should be knowing oneself. Meditation was, in fact, invented to search for and in yourself. With time, Hinduism turned really dirty, indulging in caste-based categorization and other such nonsense. The Buddha turned away from all these and went back to the basics. He preaching made much more sense than the dominant Hindus. I think that's why Buddhism still finds a way into everyday life, even after a passage of thousands of years.
