Having an outside hobby that you can potentially pour into and monetize is such a great outlet if you don’t find much meaning or purpose in your W2 (speaking from experience)

Honestly, you and the other businesses on nostr have very much inspired me to. So thanks for that 😅

I'm in the exact same boat. DevOps / infra for the past 16 years. I bought woodworking tools that I never used. In between jobs now and finding a job is draining the life out of me.
I really want to build something with my hands.
Do it! Finding a job in this market is unbearable. I generally stay at one place for an extended period of time but lately, I’ve been hopping like crazy because the tech market has just gotten so insane
I got laid off and I've applied ti so manu positions and I either get ghosted or automated rejections. No human interaction.
The problem with going the woodworking route is that I need income now. I can sell off my btc and pay off my mortgage, but then I wouldn't have much money (fiat or btc) left for anything.
Oh, I totally understand. I am constantly swamped by work. I’m very lucky that I get to take some paternity leave for the rest of summer and that our baby is already really well adjusted, so I have time to pursue it.
It’s a struggle. Keep your head up!
