Without sound officious or snooty, I mostly make my own 🙄

I enjoy cooking, it's the only hobby I've kept during my entire adulthood. Mainly because you have to eat if you want to stay alive 😂

If you ever fancy having a go, try Watercress pesto, use walnuts instead of pine nuts and I often use manchego instead of Parmesan. Oh also I would have recommended rapeseed oil, but apparently we're not using seed oils anymore 🥹

Thank you. I never done and I think it has to do with those things you have to start doing to start giving it value! Will give it a try, with edible almond or avocado oil?

You can mix it up however you like, if you're not looking to make a classic pesto.

If you've not done it before, perhaps follow a classic recipe, work out the concepts and then start playing with the ingredients.

I've made tomato pestos, roasted pepper pestos and spinach pestos, it's basically the same five ingredients.

A leaf or reduced savoury fruit of some kind

Always a small nubbin of garlic

An abrasive, typically a nut

A cheese, generally firm

An oil

Then a little salt (depending on the cheese) and pepper.

Then use a pestle and mortar to grind the ingredients together 👍
