Why has America’s Intelligence services always failed miserably at espionage and counterespionage?!

They rely almost exclusively on using money to gain intelligence.

Other nations, like the Soviets and even our own Allie’s were far superior at infiltrating American Intel agencies. They relied on people who cared about their nation, families, tribe, principles or beliefs.

I know a lot of MFers in America who could be making ridiculous amounts of money in the Intel Game if all they were after was getting rich. Some took that route. Most still believe in the oath they took and no amount of dirty fiat could ever make them turn their backs.

Most of them are Bitcoin Veterans and ALL OF THEM (a lot still on Active Duty) understand that the country is being destroyed.
