Disengage and say nothing. For both sides it’s unfortunately the best option. If someone is overtly hostile they’re mind is simply not open to BTC and nothing you can say will help

Yeah, behind the hostile assumption, and seemingly ignorant take, almost always hides jealosy or some other form of emotional damage.
