When I was in the Navy, I hated doing the yearly evaluation reports that were mandated and required, especially to get promoted. Self marketing, and putting into words the value you brought to an organization has always been a tedious task for me that I loathed.

I was wrong. There is more usefulness in that process than I considered before.

I still loathe the idea.
