There is centralization at the mobile carrier and then also at the chip in your device and then with google who controls Android no matter how much google you remove from it.

I had a similar thought. For devices like Librem 5, a wifi-only hardware option could help make it more portable; as it would be without the need for the removable modem card. The PinePhone Pro has a dip switch for the LTE modem, however that may also disable GPS, which could still be useful.

Just skip the phone…it’s over. Apple controls it all

Need a new starting point

Completely unhealthy the phone and access anywhere anyway

Will be forced to start w the chip and build inside out, due to chip market

Software stack needs thinking

Probably bare metal :)
