I'll never understand people who's followers far outweigh their follows. What does it mean?

There are a lot of spammy followers I don't follow back but I'm fairly close in ratio.

Maybe I'm just a try hard 🤣

💯 I like it fresh and wild. I just fell asleep on the couch and woke up to this 🤣🫂

It usually just means some ppl are looking for clout rather than engaging in real conversations that question their world view. Not always though.

I like to think of my “Following” and “Followers” lists in the same way we used to think about our K/D ratios in video games. If you’ve ever had a negative K/D, you know the shame that comes with it. 😂

That's funny

Jack and the e-girls may be the exception 🤣

It makes sense for the builders because they have limited time. The goals are different for devs.

Do you think it should be the other way round or that the two counts should be fairly evenly matched?

I mean as a mutual respect, I'll follow back. If you don't like them you can unfollow or mute. But for the most part I think it should be pretty even. Unless you just don't value most people, right?

Interesting. I do not have a large follower count but I'll readily admit that I do not follow a sizable portion of people who follow me.

Really comes down to having a tightly curated feed. In a sense I suppose that means I do not value most of the people following me enough to follow each of them but that's not to say I don't think they are valuable people. It isn't personal, rather I have found that it is hard to truly *follow* hundreds or thousands of people in any meaningful way.

One caveat is that I follow some hash tags which means I see a lot of the same groups of people and I'll interact with some regularity without following each of them individually.

That's fair 🫂⚡️🤙

Tbh at first i followed a lot back and loading my followers list is a pain i usally just follow people(back) who interact with me in some way

i thought follows/followers count doesnt matter on nostr

Depends on your idea on a level of engagement right? More follows ,more followers, more interaction.

You've been followed 🫡
