When you only have two political parties and one of them doesn’t believe in the basic foundational principles of that government, there can be no compromise because both parties are not operating in good faith. What’s the difference between a foreign government that wants to destroy your system of government, and a member of your own government that wants the same thing?

I always thought that was treason. Plain and simple.
