Nostr Web Client

I have been running a nostr relay (the fabulous strfry) for two months now. I always add my relay every time I switch nostr app / client but the feed / timeline / whatever you call it - is always very different from app to app.

I am missing something here. What is the benefit of running a relay?

Are you only using your relay when switching apps?

I think the main benefit is that you have your notes on your own relay so you can theoretically guarantee that they will always exist. Whereas your notes on someone else’s relay can/will be deleted at some point.
