If they debase all fiat currency equally, the perception is not the debasement of a currency but rather rising prices as the USD/EUR exchange rate stays the same. They pit the consumers against their own providers while convincing the consumer the bank is the only one they can absolutely trust. It's really quite brilliant, in a totally perverted way.
