This is an early sketch of the character Toast. Back when this sketch was created Toast was basically a copy sketch of Bread, but the concept of identity started to become more important. How was Toast going to be different from Bread. That's why the hashes were added to show the toasted effect and the wide eyes for a more innocent personality.
