I never liked the way it felt like he left little room for my imagination to run wild, I enjoyed reading but I found his work to be a slog, no matter the format. Like I say, of course, I can appreciate the quality of it, despite never enjoying it. And the movies are brilliant - about the first time I ever really enjoyed his work, yet even they feel like a slog lol 😆
