Thanks! I'll check out Blender and the illustrator ones. I've tried GIMP and Gimpshop before but just couldn't replace Photoshop 😢. After effects would be tough too, but maybe Blender mixed with one of the illustration options would work.

On the editing side DaVinci is awesome.

Clip Studio Paint is fantastic. Desktop is a simple purchase and they usually have deals up to 75-80% off.

The paid subscription for iPad isn’t too bad either. You can buy an Apple gift card and that’ll get you squared away.

Affinity Design and Procreate are also solid one time purchase apps. Very inexpensive.

Blender is powerful.

My friends studio did the VFX work for Man in The High Castle series all in Blender. It’s got a steep learning curve, but it’s worth it.

Not an Apple user after they axed Final Cut Pro X in like 2010.

But I worked on set for a few episodes of Man in the High Castle, so that's a cool tidbit I didn't know!
