Nothing screams "decentralized finance" and "for the masses" like charging nearly a thousand dollars for a two day conference filled with rich guys speaking about how Bitcoin will definitely become adopted en masse by the plebs.

Hard to say this isn't the case when pointing out true private coins like Monero and Pirate (and many others I'm not aware of) have addressed Bitcoin's core privacy flaws without having to band-aid through the process like Bitcoin had to with SegWit and Lightning gets responded with "shitcoin" and "tHe OnE tRuE cOiN."
