When you lose all perceived forms of control in your life, that is when your endurance will be tested. When there are no visible forms of security, the fragility of your faith will be exposed. In that moment, we must remember what the world would have us forget.

God is neither an emotion, nor is he a discipline. He is an all powerful, spiritual being. His presence inspires both.

We often see demons portrayed in cinema as spirits that inspire fear and darkness through their metaphysical presence. Can God not inspire the fruits of the spirit in the same way? People of evil use blood, symbols, and rituals to both request the presence of spirits (we know they are demons) and to even be filled by them. Do not forget God spilled His blood on a cross so you might be filled with the Holy Spirit. You called upon His name to accept this and He answered. He sealed it with your baptism.

They use the blood of image bears, we have been given the Blood of the Image. The use floors and tables to inscribe their symbols, God has inscribed the Righteousness of God in Christ’s blood on your soul.

If the wicked call out to demons with such cheap imitation and expect them to reply, how so much more should we expect the reply of God and His supernatural influence on our hearts?

Find rest this night brothers, for we are sealed and saved by nothing less than the Blood of Christ!
