One of the major paradigm shifts I encountered going from Protestantism to Eastern Orthodoxy (EO) is a much smaller direct focus on Scripture. I've learned that Scripture is only part of complete Christianity. It's a very important part, but still only a part. I find myself reading much less of the Bible than I used to, but in its place I'm spending about three times as long at church in verbally dense worship services, and also praying pre-written prayers for 25-30 minutes a day, which is something I never did before. These are just standard EO practices for someone interested in piety, and I'm not even doing everything I could. There are more services and prayers available. Honestly, I think I'm spiritually better off now than I was before!
