🔥 Burn Remedy 🔥

I’ve always used raw honey for small kitchen burns, and it works!

That said, yesterday, I grabbed a skillet handle from a 400° oven (don’t ask why 🫠), got second degree burns on my fingers,

and my normal honey application was not soothing the pretty severe pain 😬

Went to earthclinic.com (best site for home remedies!) and learned about using the *non-shiny* side of aluminum foil on burns!!

After holding my fingers in a bowl of cool water for ten minutes, I alternated between baking soda paste and honey, wrapped with aluminum, and held an ice pack (* never apply ice directly to a burn)

Pain subsided completely!

Skin still felt weird and tight tho,

and if I put pressure then it hurt.

Kept the foil on overnight with a layer of Manuka honey underneath, and this morning there is zero pain or blistering.

Skin feels smooth and I think I lost my thumbprint 😂 but wow, had to share in case y’all didn’t know about aluminum foil for burns (first, second degree).

I've read that the not/shiny side of foil is just a result of the making process, also keeping aluminium in touch with food or wound doesn't sound very healthy to me.

But I can totally relate to touching a skillet, I burn myself basically every day and once forgot myself and wiped surface of electric glass stove right after I put away pot🫠 left a part of my palm there🫠 and will try🫠 so thanks for interesting tip👍😊

All I can say, is it worked for me :)

Also, as I mentioned, raw honey, usually does the trick, this was a worse burn and much worse pain than usual

I think I never used honey👀 If it's bad enough, I go straight for some gel👀

What kind of gel? Aloe Vera or something else?

Fresh aloe is also amazing if one has it around!

No, Fenistil from apothecary. I'm not used to natural remedies, always at least forget😐

Maybe you’ll remember next time :) They tend to be safest and cheapest and mostly work excellently!

Sometimes, depending on the situation, they can take longer than pharmaceuticals to work, but for me it’s worth it, as I like supporting my body and my immune system.

I also very much appreciate modern medicine for the times when it is needed 👍

I'm so sorry this happened. I had no idea aluminum foil could help with such a think. I just popped in the website you recommended. I'm sure my mother will love it.

It’s the best! 😊 Like an open source natural healing remedies global collab!

Would be great if something like that ran on nostr to decentralize it more

Manuka honey is next level. I keep it with my first aid stuff.
