tl;dr: use imgur or a service that lets you delete the image if it’s only the image you’re concerned about.

Host the photo yourself, or somewhere that allows deleting it… nostr doesn’t host images as of right now they are just image links. Clients partner or offer their own image hosting service.

it might not scrub the photo from cache (those who already loaded it) or those who have screen shot or saved it, but the signed note won’t be able to load it because the link is broken.

It can be archived with the image but one couldn’t say it’s the verified signed content of the note if the content has to be changed to nostrarchive.org/pic.jpg to load the image.

I worry more about the future of smaller img hosting services going under and a new bad actor acquiring the domain and replacing the photos, rather than getting rid of it.
