After trying #nostr for a few days now and setting up little things here and there and clienthopping a little and even bootstrapping my own relay with #strfry - I am WELL impressed.
This is the second time that "cryptobros" have actually amazing technology; #IPFS - which was the backbone to NFTs - is a fantastic system to share and store files, like a dedicated file database, that happens to also talk to any other node it is peering with, much like nostr relays.
And now Nostr itself; as long as two people share at least one relay, both see one other's notes. If said relay happens to be a syncing/streaming relay - like `strfry stream wss://... --dir both` then the reach is even bigger.
I am well amazed and definitively keeping my privkey. However - I am not partaking in any of the zapping and satsing. I know it's usually the loudest minority that you hear, but I just haven't seen a single crypto implementation that I can use day-to-day. Crypto exchange owners rugpulling, keys leaked and all these things just make me want to keep myself distanced firmly.
Still. Nostr rocks! :D
