In 1996 I bought a ridiculously large hard drive. It was 1600 Megabytes. I think I paid $300 or $400 for that. Also had a 1 GB Jaz drive.

Oh damn, I didn’t know there was a follow up to the Zip drive

I bought the jaz thinking it'd be better. It could store more, but without wide support nobody else I knew had one while zip drives and disks were more prolific where you could pickup the cartridges at the store. And eventually the jaz had mechanical problems and became ewaste.

I remember trying to run Pinball Fantasies in DOS directly from a zip disk. It was the speed equivalent of single-speed CDROM. HDD space was hard to come by back then. ☹️
