They are mining fiat really, when it comes down to it. It's the users who are turning it into something else. The problem of miner incentives was a very early topic and difficult to resolve.

Back-dating in nostr is trivial but not supported in my client. For things like "the first to reply ..." it would be handy to have a way to reply "the same second" as the post minutes later.

Or in other words it would be nice if we could make back-dating harder by broader use of OTS or something.
