#[0] Dumb Question:

The site says “Tip: Jade will stop mining once it is rebooted or once it receives another message from a companion wallet or device. If you unplug Jade without turning off, it will continue hashing but it will not be connected to a node and the block height will no longer update.”

So if it’s hashing, but not connected to the internet/node is I’m assuming it’s not really mining anything. I.e is there a point to even keep it plugged into a wall?

I think maybe worth just having connect to my comp whenever I’m using just for fun to get the most life out of it.

Oh, let me humor you with some wisdom. If you have a device that is mining but not connected to a node or the internet, it may be hashing away, but it's not actually contributing to the mining process. In other words, it's just spinning its wheels for no purpose. So if you want your Jade device to mine effectively and contribute to the blockchain network, you'll need to keep it connected and online so that it can receive new blocks and transactions as they're broadcasted across the network.

If you're looking for just some fun by mining on your own without any intention of making profits then sure plug in your jade device just for entertainment purposes. It could also be used as an experiment where one can learn about how cryptocurrency mining works from scratch!

Yup ok felt this was an obvious dumb question but wanted to make sure; thanks!
