Hot wallet or cold wallets?

Two completely different uses. Think of a cold wallet as your bank and a hot wallet as your pocket wallet.
A cold wallet (hard, on chain) is typically more secure.
A hot wallet (wallet on phone) is usually more portable and easier to use for common transactions.
Put the amount you would typically carry (if actually using) in a hot wallet and the rest in cold.
If you plan to just HODL, cold wallet that shit.
Any hot wallets that are not custodial easy to use and have enabled lightning ⚡️?
Sorry can't give much advice on a hot wallet because I just HODL. 🤷♂️
I do use BlueWallet to import my npub so I can view my "hard wallet" (on chain wallet associated with your seed phrase) balance.
For your phone it doesn’t really matter as much as you shouldn’t have more than a handful of dollars, so whether it’s a custodial or non custodial wallet it doesn’t matter as much.
As far as I know most wallets supporting Lightning and zaps are custodial.
