The album cover for Guns N' Roses' "Use Your Illusion" is inspired by a section of the famous fresco "The School of Athens" by Raphael. This Renaissance masterpiece, painted between 1509 and 1511, depicts great philosophers and scientists of antiquity gathered in one place. On the album cover, a figure from Raphael's fresco is highlighted and reinterpreted with a modern and vibrant style, thus reflecting the connection between classical art and contemporary culture.
