So, was hoping I’d be able to share another accepted paper, after getting through 3 rounds of revision for a paper critiquing a paper published by some academic hacks (Alex de Vries included), but at the 11th hour, as it returned to the editor-in-chief’s desk, it got rejected with quite a bit of force.
If after 3 rounds it was still shit, fair enough, but surely that suggests the reviewing process was at fault or the associate editor had different standards than the EiC. If I go a little conspiracy, could this mean that as it was about to get accepted, the EiC didn’t want the reputation of the journal to be affected by acknowledging they published some work that was, not to get too personal, shit, or the 3 rounds of reviews were to delay me……
Either way, put it up on a preprint site, and also going to share a slightly longer piece talking about this process (maybe my first read). Also, in other news, after uploading it to researchgate (academics equivalent to Facebook), the lead author of the original paper started following my updates (dr Peter Howson, who wants a world of post-capitalist…. Also see commie ).
Did I just kick a hornet’s nest? Fucking bring it.
