I asked grok about the sum of bombs dropped by Israel on Gaza since October 2023. It didn't have reliable numbers until April 2025, but estimated a number using a low average for the days until mid-2024 and extrapolated until today to get a ballpark number. This number is 124.000 tons.

I asked it to comapare this to historical events. This was its answer:

"Comparison to Historical Events (Updated to April 2025 Estimate)

Using the projected 124,000 tons by April 2025:

Dresden (1945): 3,900 tons—Israel’s total would be over 31 times greater.

Hamburg (1943): 22,000 tons—over 5.5 times greater.

London (The Blitz, 1940-1941): 18,300 tons—nearly 7 times greater.

Hiroshima (1945): 15,000 tons—over 8 times greater in raw tonnage (though not in nuclear yield).

U.S.-led Coalition vs. ISIS (2014-2019): Peak month (August 2017) saw ~2,500-3,000 tons—Gaza’s projected total is over 40 times that month’s amount.

Allied Bombing of Germany (1942-1945): 1.5-2 million tons—Gaza’s total is still a fraction (6-8%) but in a vastly smaller area (360 km² vs. 357,582 km²).

The density remains staggering: 124,000 tons over 360 km² equates to about 344 tons per square kilometer, far exceeding the per-area intensity of these historical campaigns. These figures are provisional and could shift with new data or changes in military strategy, but they underscore the unprecedented scale of destruction in Gaza relative to its size and population. For precise numbers up to April 30, 2025, further updates from credible sources would be needed post-date."
