Dear anti vax lovelies, have any of you taken a university level immunology class? If you would like to exert some control over your media induced fear of the unknown then I highly recommend reading an immunology textbook. It’s one of my favorite subjects.

Of course it will be difficult to understand so if you actually want to comprehend the material I suggest first reading an intro to biology textbook, then a cell biology textbook, followed by anatomy & physiology then genetics. It would be helpful to read chemistry and organic chemistry to understand deeper mechanisms. And there is some math in there so algebra and statistics too. And after all that, read an immunology book.

You can read clinical immunology/serology and molecular diagnostics textbooks as well for extra goodies. Real learning comes from application thru laboratory experiments and examination tho, so this is still only partial comprehension. If you get past this point then you can even move to masters level comprehension and learning how to parse thru research papers, which isn’t easy.

The knowledge is all there for you. Put in the effort to understand or maybe try trusting the people who have a formal education (possibly taking on student loan debt) and have dedicated their lives to a career in these subjects.
