Exactly it was a test to see how high compliance is, that's why they used the QR code in the first place.
There was never any other reason to use a QR code passport system then to see how people adapt and how many would comply with a said system.
But in the real world when I talk to people I can understand most in their Argumentation on why they went along with it, but it does not mean they like it.
The said system was temporary and not permanent which is a huge difference as many people I talked to realized how quickly this can go in a very wrong way when your pass turns to another color all of a sudden and you are denied entry without any specific reason.
