Interestingly Orwell’s take on free speech was the freedom to speak the truth.

Using freedom of speech for speaking the truth seems pretty wild sometimes. Especially in the context of big accounts on X.

Fingers crossed more people will work out better options exist.

I've always been fond of Orwell. It's a shame his name is used to mean the far opposite from what he actually believed.

I haven't gotten through the whole podcast yet (it doesn't seem to want to play in my browser), perhaps they mention it, but I think one of Orwell's other books, "Homage to Catalonia", is a great read that shows his ideals in an almost conversational form describing his time in the Spanish civil war of 1936-1939.
