Fascinating to see my 2 (almost 3) year old speak in two languages. The human brain is so interesting 🤨
I’m curious if any kids out there speak 3 or 4 at this point? 🤔

Yeah I’m curious to know how it is in his household
yeah, it's absolutely wild;
my 4yo speaks fluently spanish, english and greek and speaks some german with her german friends
it's wild. At home she speaks english to me and spanish to her mom, but then when we are out and about she speaks greek to the locals
the ease at which she picks up languages (and particularly accents) is incredible, I think that exposing her to all these different languages and accents at this very early age is such an incredible investment that is hard not doing it 😀
A dear friend’s son was raised with 3 languages in the home; English, Czech, and Spanish. When he was a toddler he asked me a 3 word sentence with one word from each language and looked at me like I was an idiot for not knowing them. I will say it was struggle for his mom to try to keep him speaking all 3 languages once he hit school age. He was educated in England and English just became his default. He maintained some Spanish by spending summers in Spain. But she gave up on him speaking much Czech. I know she’s speaking Czech almost exclusively to her youngest. I’ll have to ask if that’s getting her oldest to speak Czech again.
I think so..
It’s really fascinating how easy childs learn things like language!👀🤯 amazing you can give him/her the ability 👏🏼
My kids speak English, and Mandarin natively. They also speak some Spanish and a bit of Taiwanese. Many Europeans speak four or five languages fluently. #languages
Activity-dependent plasticity is amazing!
My kids grew up speaking Finnish (mom), Spanish (dad) and English (we live in US) in that order. But once they hit school age English took over and became primary for them.
If you're diligent and speak both non local languages at home you can do three languages.
