This is my thinking.

Salary is $10 000 USD

BTC long term stash $5000

Living expenses $4000

Disposal income $1000

The $1000 should be converted into BTC and used around merchants

A 50% saving rate is inspirational, good job mate. People often suggest 10% but this barely keeps up with real inflation.
