do not throw away your ledger.

my 5 cents:

take your seed and load the seed on a self-built seedsigner. add a strong pw. store the result safely, on qr plates, washers etc.

generate two more seeds on the seedsigner, on bitbox by throwing dices or by cards. apply logic, math and commonsense. add a strong password on each of the two seeds.

make a 2/3 multisig wallet on sparrow or specter. use the ledger for one, your seedsigner or equivalent for two and three.

apply logic and commonsense for storing the seeds. memorize the strong password.

for using the wallet you will just need the ledger and the seedsigner with one seed (2 out of 3 seeds needed).

it is more convenient than loading the seed on the seedsigner twice.

even if ledger steals or blocks your seed (which is very unlikely), they cannot stop you from using it on a multisig wallet.

all you need to do is moving your funds to the multisig wallet using the seedsigner.

You make sense, but the very sight of Ledger sickens me .

I was robbed when I bought the damn thing , never mind them getting the corn off it.
