"If you build it, they will come"

...sounds good in the movies, but the reality is that if you don't promote it, rarely will people come.

Don't be afraid to promote the things you create.

You don't have to sound like a douchey used car salesperson. Just communicate the value of what you offer in terms of benefits to the end user.

Use this formula in your copy:

Here's what I've got (the thing, service etc)

Here's what it will do for you (benefits to end user)

Here's what I want you to do now (take action)

Optional: What happens if you don't take action right now?

This could be spelled out in the copy to create urgency or scarcity, and that works...

But if you communicate well enough (implied or explicit) the value of what you have to offer IN TERMS OF BENEFITS TO THE END USER/client/customer etc. then it's better left implied.
